Key Largo JY -15 Regatta
ASC First Mark Club Attended

The ASC was well represented at the JY 15 Mid Winter regatta held at the
Upper Keys Sailing Club in Key Largo, Florida. We transported 8 boats, 9 juniors,( 3 of which skippered ) and 5 adult skippers. Two other families drove down for parental support. So all together we had 1/2 of the registered boats and 18 people.
The weather was unseasonably cold and 18 to 24 knots of wind the first 2 days and 15 to 20 on the last day. Claudio Guetter, a former ASC member now living in Miami, took the Master award Kalie Fuller earned top Junior Crew hardware sailing with Jeffrey Holder, 6th place over all. In 9th over all, Nate and Dad, Bob Damen took top honors for parent/child. John Potter, Beaufort, was the over all winner as usual. The UKSC put on another great event with outstanding food along with a great Saturday night band. Despite the weather, it was a great event full of friendship and camaraderie all around. We are all looking forward to next year in, hopefully, some warmer Florida sunshine. Check the photos on the web site.
