Sailing Camp Report 2005

Sail Camp 05 was another great success.   We had a total of 75 youths sign up during the six weeks the Sail Camp operated.   The big change this year was the introduction of three JY 15s.   This added a whole other dimension to the camp.   We had five of the six weeks with local thunder storms predicted on a daily basis.   The good news is that the camp was disrupted only a couple of times during this period.   Generally we had good sailing and teaching weather.
I am proud to announce that some 23 skippers really got into the racing side of things.   Consequently the summer ended with a Junior Championship Regatta in which 10 skippers sailed a round robin six race series in Sunfish to crown the 2005 Junior Champ, David Koth.
Plans will again come together in late January for the 2006 Sail Camp schedule.
Check the ASC web site for these dates.
