Sail Camp 07 Ends with a Bang and Heavy Winds

Our Sailing Camp ended with some real challenges for our young sailors.  Winds were white capping the water on several days, during which, they made two sails to the South Carolina side "Swimming Hole" and one trip to "Monkey  Island" ( the second small island about mile and half up the lake ).  We had twenty two campers for this last week and I turned down over a dozen request.  All together we had 109 very active and enthusiastic young sailors, with almost half being girls. It has been a very successful Sail Camp in many ways, but most of all about half of the campers had never been in sail boat before. It is really a thrill to see them accomplish and hone skills they can use a lifetime.

I want to also thank the following instructors which added so much talent to the program; Kim Hines, Beau Samuelson, Josh Putnam, Will Paschal, Eli Putnam, and Mason Hines. Nathan Damen was also on board as a helper. We have a great team and a wealth of experience to draw from.

Thanks for the opportunity to help promote the sport we all love.                      Jim Holder
